the directory on the samba server has to be accessible to the person
trying to use it, right? ok if you have the samba server authenticating
back to a PDC then the person it is authenticating needs to be a part of
a group. if the directory has the write,read rights for the "nobody"
group, you should be able to access the directory, but if the directory
has the read write settings allowed for a specific group, then the
person accessing it need to be in the group. also have you done an:
adduser "username"?
and a
passwd "username"?
and then a:
smbadduser username:username ?
this is so they can access the samba server in general. I believe you
need to do that unless of coursse you are useing the PDC. I have found
that (with my own experience) that haveing a PDC that is not samba can
sometimes be a hassle.....let me know what you think....
