Hi,
I experienced such problems lately :
when you deposit files through samba on unix,
the default mapping seems not to work for
extended characters (french for us).
The solution is in samba global options :
character set = ISO8859-1
sets extended character mapping.
swat online help can help you to
see what character set you may need.
After that, filenames are correctly read
on unix (i.e. : an 'ls' shows correct accents)
and samba shares read & create correct
names.
bye,
Ahmed Rahal.
