Andrew,
I had the same problem for the
last couple of weeks. I was so mad
that I was about to give up on it.
But my boss hes know his unix , linux
inside and outside.
try this it might help you out.
1 make sure that you have a account
for the user that your going to use
on you linux box.
2 at the prompt you need to type is
$ smbuser < user name> <hit
enter>
after that
$smbpasswd < password for user
you added above>
then it should work . try checking
your passwd and the smbpasswd to see
that both of them have the same id
number.
make sure that in your smb.conf file
you have the user name thats trying
to access the folder.
if you need more help or dont user
stand my words I could find you a
link with more information
hope it works
bye Luis
Hi there. Sorry, this is not nice, I know. A while back I tried to join the group and didn't get the confirmation - that I can remember. I re-applied and got the "confirm and send me back" message and now I am on the list - as you all can tell. Alas, I am getting two of every post now. Errrr, I would be quite happy with one. :-) Oh, and Happy New Year to you all too! X-) Regards -- Mythology: Invented lies for future consumption. Andrew Bruno abruno@zeta.org.au
