Hi TOm,

I know it this doesn't really help your SMS problem, but it does help SQL.

Oracle just accounced support for Linux and they said they are going to
release a free version of ORACLE for Linux.

Newbie question - AIX binaries

Sorry, but I can't help but make a pitch here:

You don't need to "buy" a C compiler, just download gcc and the 
binutils from www.gnu.org (I still can't believe AIX doesn't come 
with one).  gcc 2.8.1 should work fine.  It might seem scary (it 
still seems that way to me sometimes) but building from source is 
the way to go.  This will give you access to tons of great software 
tools, most of it free (the only cost is your time, but the 
educational value is well worth the investment).

If you absolutely have to, I'm sure someone else can point you to 
the AIX binaries (I'm a linux guy myself)...

Samba 2.0.3 on HP 10.2 rejects valid passwords

I have having some strange problems trying to get Samba 2.0.2 working in an
hp-ux 10.20
system.  I used the default run of configure. My smb.conf looks like:

   socket options = TCP_NODELAY

An exerpt from my Samba Log file is enclosed.

It seems that valid username/password combinations do not work.

Samba 1.9.18,p10 works fine with the same settings.
The pc's are using a DHCP server and the unix boxes are not.  But, that was
not
a problem before.

NT user == 2 unix users

Hmm, I have an interesting situation.

I have files on my FreeBSD machine owned by a user "admin", and group
"files". Now, while my user "knight" on my NT machine can
access these
files because it is in the files group, I do not have permissions set to
read/write for the group, only the user.

However, I would like to allow ONLY my NT login "knight" to act as
admin,
but while maintaining it's identity as knight.

How can I could about this so that knight can be both knight and admin.
