samba - Feb 1999 - smbfs brokenness

I posted a few days ago with regard to a problem with 2.0.2 when compiled
against linux 2.2.1. Users can mount volumes fine, but after a short time
the connection is no longer accessable and needs to be remounted. Is no
one else having this problem?
