Followup to: Can't get Win95 to share after using policy
Regarding my earlier message (attached), the actual problem appears to be that regardless of the policy settings (even removing CONFIG.POL on the server!), I can't add File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks as a client service on the Win95 client computer! How can I re-enable this? Daryl ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1998 20:08:50 -0400 From: Daryl L. Biberdorf <darylb@mail.ctsfw.edu> To: samba@samba.anu.edu.au, darylb@mail.ctsfw.edu Subject: Can't get Win95 to share after using policy I set up system policies on our lab machines here, all of which run Win 95 against Samba 1.9.18p10 on Linux 2.0.35. Each machine has an entry in the CONFIG.POL. Originally, all the machine entries disallowed File/print Sharing (Users shouldn't be able to create new shares of any kind). However, *one* computer needs to be able to share its printer. So, I edited the policy file to turn sharing on again for that one computer. I placed the new CONFIG.POL back in the /netlogon share. however, the Win 95 computer won't give me back the File and Printer Sharing... button in the Network Control Panel. Help! How can I get it back? Daryl
