Samba, Can someone please detail how one would permanently mount samba shares between two unix boxes so as to emulate (or replace) NFS. I know you can do it temporarily with smbclient but isn't that just the same as using an ftp client ? I am keen to benchmark samba's performance versus NFS on my system as we do a lot of cross workstation communication (unfortunately all on one switched hub) so I want to minimise traffic.
