Probably because they're not supported. IE is considered harmful for web
developers anyway: It's noncompliance to the publised W3C standard and
severe security concerns it presents to end users makes it unsuitable for
human consumption in general, nobody should encourage this behaviour by using
or accomodating IE.
That being said, if you're being coerced to use IE for employment reasons, a
good place to look instead would be

this very unsupported and very seperate project instead.

If you tried to install IE in wine, it's not impossible that you destroyed
your wine bottle; time to rm -rf ~/.wine and (restore it from your last daily
backup|start over)...
