Either run it as root (this makes it capture the screen [and
implicitly the mouse] assuming you've got a standard install of X)
(and it makes it run much faster on my system) or give a user access
to DRI (I think that's the right initials <shrug>)or make X's
desktop
(and display, they can be different) 640x480 with /etc/X11/XF86Config
