[Pkg-xen-devel] Bug#603417: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64: domU fails to obtain IP address from dom0 dhcp server (dhclient complains about checksum error)
Package: xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 Version: 4.0.1-1 Severity: normal Because my networking was getting rather complex I cloned my firewall/net server as domU/dom0 to offload some services to the domU. I use bridged networking with the domU virtual adaptor connected to the internal ethernet interface used to provide services (which is normally the single port of the bridge). When I attempt to bring up the domU ethernet with dhcp the dom0 dnsmasq server receives the request and sends offers but domU dhclient does not accept the IP and says there were 5 checksum errors in 5 packets. I am not sure how to diagnose the issue further. DNS resolution using the dom0 for server seems to work in domU, HTTP and CIFS services provided by domU to the internal network work as well. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (800, 'stable'), (400, 'unstable'), (200, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash xen-hypervisor-4.0-amd64 depends on no packages.
