note that removing the 2 above .in files broke the initial svn checkout ->
autoreconf, since these are needed by configure but only generated by 'make
dist' (chicken and egg)

I've created a wrapper script (trunk, r2783) to address this, but buildbot
will need an update.

Charles has fixed the BuildBot rules, so the situation is back to normal.
