[nut-commits] buildbot failure in FreeBSD-i686
...teren clepple+buildbot op ghz.cc: > The Buildbot has detected a new failure of FreeBSD-i686. > Full details are available at: > http://buildbot.ghz.cc/public/nut/FreeBSD-i686/builds/35 Charles, It seems that m4/nut_check_libhal.m4 fails to detect the proper path where to install the .fdi files. I have no idea where these files live on FreeBSD, so could you please find out what to do here? Do these exist at all? Best regards, Arjen -- Please keep list traffic on the list

Maybe I found it, an lsof|grep hiddev0 spits out: hald-addo 3157 root 4r CHR 180,0 0t0 1416 /dev/hiddev0 Killed, as was the 52 script in /etc/hal/fdi. Reboot time. Panel regression
Hi, I am trying to run a panel regression where I have a matrix of observations and a matrix of independant variables - examples would trying to predict countries's GDP with their data on education, FDI, tax rates, over time. For the purpose of simplicity, my data would be: dep = matrix(rnorm(50),ncol=5) indep1 = matrix(rnorm(50),ncol=5) indep2 = matrix(rnorm(50),ncol=5) >From what I could find, the lme{nlme} function would be the function. However, after I installed the package and I type...

How to disable hal-addon-hid-ups
...efore nut can get it. There are a number of klugey workarounds, like turn off port power until ready to start nut (so that hal doesn't see the UPS). Or killall hal-addon-hid-ups before starting nut. Here is one of recipes I googled: https://github.com/sdgathman/trippfix/blob/master/halpolicy.fdi It doesn't work - hal still loads the addon - preventing nut upsdrvctl from succeeding. I'm thinking the killall is the least dirty workaround, but what is the right way to tell hal not to mess with the UPS (or any UPS for that matter).

How to disable hal's polling of CD-ROM drive in CentOS 5.1?
Given that I hardly ever use the CD-ROM drive, it makes no sense to have hal constantly polling it for new media. How can I disable this polling in CentOS 5.1? Thanks.
