Peter,

looking back on rev 543, it looks like my 'make depend' ended up
removing 'rhino.h', but also removed the rule for rhino.o as well. Did
I miss a step somewhere?

Not sure. Was rhino perhaps missing from your Makefile.in:PROGS ?

I am working on Automake support right now. If I succeed, automake
will soon take care of the dependency tracking in a portable way.
