Hello list, I tried to compile Wine-0.9.17 but configure said this: configure: error: could not find a way to build shared libraries. It is currently not possible to build Wine without shared library (.so) support to allow transparent switch between .so and .dll files. If you are using Linux, you will need a newer binutils. I've installed binutils-2.15-6, bison, flex and the other packages that are mentioned in the README. What's wrong? I'm using Debian Sarge. phil -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/attachments/20060710/5e3485f7/attachment.htm

I'm using Debian Sarge.I just saw a mail on wine-devel which said that the tarball on sourceforge is corrupt, and you should use the one from ibiblio.org Daniel
