When receiving inbound calls from a Vonage Softphone extension, I'm unable
to view/maniupulate calledid data. but it shows up in the CDR records and on
called handsets.. any ideas?

Those variables were deprecated in 1.2 and removed in 1.4. You should read both the 1.2 and 1.4 UPGRADE.txt files. Also read README.variables.
