Wait till the necessary support is built into wine's setupapi.dll 2. Get a copy of this dll from somewhere and run it native Problem: I have a Windows license for this notebook, but no copy of windows is installed. I could copy the .dll from somewhere else, but which version of Windows to use? Does it matter? Are there licensing issues? alan

[Wine] Cisco VPN client, unimplemented function in setupapi.dll
Hello Alan,>> I can't get a Cisco VPN client to install in wineDo you need to run the VPN client inside of wine? As I understand it, the usual way is to set up the network infrastructure in Linux, and then use that from wine. Take a look at the Linux-package "vpnc" if that is available with your distribution (it's there in Debian). Hope that helps, Jens Alan McKinnon schrieb:> Hi all, > > I can't get a Cisco VPN client to install in wine: > > wine: Call from 0x7b83f838 to unimplemented function > setupapi.dll.SetupDiGetINFClassA, aborting > wine: Unimplemented function setupapi.dll.SetupDiGetINFClassA called at > address 0x7b83f838 (thread 003a), starting debugger... > WineDbg starting on pid 0x39 > Unhandled exception: unimplemented function > setupapi.dll.SetupDiGetINFClassA called in 32-bit code (0x7b83f8b0). > Register dump: > CS:0073 SS:007b DS:007b ES:007b FS:0033 GS:003b > EIP:7b83f8b0 ESP:0034f8e0 EBP:0034f944 EFLAGS:00000202( - 00 - - > I1) > EAX:7b82bd59 EBX:7b8a44e8 ECX:00000000 EDX:00000000 > ESI:00000000 EDI:39e812aa > Stack dump: > 0x0034f8e0: 0034f968 00000008 00110000 7bc289ca > 0x0034f8f0: 80000100 00000001 00000000 7b83f838 > 0x0034f900: 00000002 7ef74dc0 7ef766fe 7bc762c8 > 0x0034f910: 0034f970 7bc36757 00110020 00171758 > 0x0034f920: 00001302 00171738 00000000 00000000 > 0x0034f930: 00000000 7bc762c8 00000000 0034f994 > fixme:ntdll:RtlNtStatusToDosErrorNoTeb no mapping for c0000119 > Backtrace: > =>1 0x7b83f8b0 RaiseException+0x78 in kernel32 (0x0034f944) > 2 0x7ef74d5d in setupapi (+0x24d5d) (0x0034f974) > 3 0x7ef58d33 in setupapi (+0x8d33) (0x0034fbb4) > 4 0x72676f72 (0x505c3a43) > 5 0x00000000 (0x00000000) > 0x7b83f8b0 RaiseException+0x78 in kernel32: subl $4,%esp > Wine-dbg> > > I assume I have two choices: > > 1. [Wine] Cisco VPN client, unimplemented function in setupapi.dll
> >> I can't get a Cisco VPN client to install in wineI'm not sure if you're looking to run the VPN just to test under Wine, or if you're looking for a way to really log on via Linux. If you're trying to log on, you can look for the Linux version of the Cisco VPN client. A company I used to work for used the Cisco VPN, but I used the Linux client to log in. Made life much easier - even if it was command line, it was still a piece of cake to use. I believe you can use the same profiles too. Just wanted to put that out there in case you wanted some options. http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/vpn/client/4_6/index.htm http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/vpn/client/ Hiji ____________________________________________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
