Hi, I am not successful in running WINE under Fedora Core 6 with ATI Rage128 graphics card (transparent window) and nVidia TNT2 (frozen windows). Searching the web has no answer to it. Please let me know if you know how to workaround this problem. Bes regards, Chin Siong, Singapore.
Hi Daniel, Thanks for your reply! The winecfg is transparent and frozen, notepad and winefile are white and frozen, sometimes transparent and frozen. All my other apps like konqueror, console, control center, etc are fine, affected only wine related windows. My setup is a Fedora Core 2.6.18-1.2849.fc6, Wine version is 0.9.25. I suspect it is due to my graphics card as both the graphics cards I tried are not recommended as they uses legacy drivers. I.e. if you have xmms running behind such a window, can you tell how long the song has been playing? My guess is that you can only see what was behind the window at the time it was created; and that wine is in fact crashing. What are the messages you get in the console? The problem has been solved after I reinstall my Fedora Core 6 by intentionally leaving out WINE and reinstall the latest version. Best regards, Chin Siong. -- news

Does this only happen to wine windows, or other windows as well? Could you give some details of your setup (software, versions)?
