[Asterisk-Users] Help evacuees from LA, MS, AL locate lived ones
Hello All, The following is an excerpt of an email sent to a number of ITSPs this morning..... I would like to direct your attention to a good idea that addresses a pressing need. At the web site http://contactlovedones.org/ Mr Dan Schoeffler outlines a telephone based means of helping displaced victims of Katrina to locate their loved ones by a voicemail based messaging system cross referencing their phone numbers. In order to get this system into production Dan need minutes, in particular 800 service minutes, or DIDs/minutes in those localities, like here in Houston, where there is a large number of evacuees. I'd like to invite your participation in helping to get this off the ground. Some in the voip user community have pointed out that we have an opportunity to expose a broad audience of the public and all levels of government to the best that voip technology can deliver. With all the negative publicity surrounding e911 and recent FCC discussions the chance to shine should be a welcome thing.
