Seeking opinions: Polycom IP330 phones?
Does anyone online have an opinion on these? I've used 500/510/6001/601 models before. Need to know if these apparently lesser models can be provisioned in the same way. Are end uers happy with them? ...n. I have a mix of Polycom 500/600s and an Aastra 480i CT. I'm considering adding a couple of Aastra 57i or 57i CT. Does anyone here have experience with the 480i CT and the newer 57i CT? I'm curious as to the real differences. Thanks, Michael Graves Sr Product Specialist Pixel Power Inc mgraves@pixelpower.com mgraves@mstvp.com FWD 54245

...etup a system that would dynamically alter it's codec preferences based on trafffic? That is, presuming that the system is on a limited bandwidth connection is would start to prefer a compressed codec as the call volume increased? Perhaps shifting from G.711 to G.729? Michael Graves post
Michael Grave just posted a question about surround conferences. http://www.facebook.com/notes.php?id=564633430#/note.php?note_id=5009726 3908&id=564633430&index=0 I didn't see it posted on the ast-list, what do you think? Does something like this have potential? I'd love to listen in on one of these calls to see how it actually sounds if someone builds a trial

microphone on Polycom 550/650
I have quite a number of users complaining that when they are using handsfree to talk over a landline, the other end can't hear them. It's like the person is speaking 5 feet away and can barely hear their voice. However between internal SIP calls, it's fine. What could be the problem? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

T-1 vs channelised T-1?
...e between a T-1 and a channelised T-1? I see that Covad's voip service (formerly GoBeam) requires a channelised T-1. Then I read recently on the list that many T-1s being installed are actually HDSL....which would be not a T-1 at all...right? Using IAXTel to dial FWD
Hi All, Is this working for any of you? We're supposed to be able to dial FWD accounts through IAXTel by dialing 170099+FWD number. I don't ever seem to be able to do this even though I can dial 800 numbers through IAXTel. Hitachi Cable WIP-5000 Wifi phone?
...t? I've considered the Pulver/Zyxel wifi phone but would really rather have something that can handle WEP or WPA. I run an 802.11g wlan with 256 bit WPA encryption. This Hitachi phone looks very much like a cell phone, which could be ideal.
