I love RXVT, but right now I use MGT for its tabs (it''s rxvt clone with
menu and tabs, working 100 times faster than gnome-terminal 2.x and not
looping/crashing unlike gnome-term 2.x :)). My session has
LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8, but of course that won''t work properly like you said.
Here''s what I do:
1. I have a shortcut icon for MGT executing command:
/bin/sh -c ''export LANG=pl_PL;multi-gnome-terminal
--geometry=80x25''
This was necessary to have proper input, changing LANG after program
startup (in terminal window) is not enough.
2. I had to remove /etc/profile.d/lang.*
Now I have perfectly working multi-gnome-terminal. I have FC3 now on my
desktop, I did the same trick with rxvt under RHL9, but found out multi-
gnome-terminal slighly better suits my needs, so I switched and have
been doing it for all the Fedora line.
