I cannot for the life of me get it to register with the asterisk server,
nor upgrade the firmware to the latest (1.41) i'm still using 1.37.

You will never be able to upload the firmware - as long as you try to
upload the firmware in 'debug' mode. This is the safe process to make
sure thhat your firmware is not bad.

Here is the way to upload the firmware coirrectly:

1)From the HTML page when you open the interface please make sure that
you select 'No Check' for the debug option, at the right hand bottom.
2) Now upload the IAX2 firmware bin file
3) Now connect to Asterisk
