[Asterisk-Users] Getting Digium TDM card - what to watch for?
What to watch for when buying one of the Digium TDM cards possibly TDM with (1xFXS and 2FXO ports)? I have SOYO motherboard with plenty of RAM and OK CPU, I know I have to find spare IRQ for the card. Anything else should I pay attention to? Thanks, -- #Joseph

Yes - make sure you buy a card that is mechanically compatible with your available PCI slots. [Asterisk-Users] Getting Digium TDM card - what to watch for?
This is good reminder, thank you. My only problem is that with all those fast changing PC components, internal PCI cards are not practical. After few years the PCI Bus will change to something else and my card will be dead along with the PC. They already have 5.0V and 3.3V Bus. #Joseph On Sat, 2004-10-02 at 19:39, Kris Boutilier wrote:> Yes - make sure you buy a card that is mechanically compatible with your > available PCI slots. > > See http://www.digium.com/index.php?menu=whatpcislot > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Joseph [mailto:syscon@interbaun.com] > > Sent: October 2, 2004 4:41 PM > > To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com > > Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Getting Digium TDM card - what to watch for? > > > > > > What to watch for when buying one of the Digium TDM cards possibly TDM > > with (1xFXS and 2FXO ports)? > > > > I have SOYO motherboard with plenty of RAM and OK CPU, > > I know I have to find spare IRQ for the card. > > > > Anything else should I pay attention to? > > > > Thanks, > > -- > > #Joseph > _______________________________________________ > Asterisk-Users mailing list > Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users > To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: > http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users-- #Joseph

The resource cards are an investment, moreso than the PC hardware. There are still lots of systems out there in production that use ISA cards.
