[Asterisk-Users] help ---IAX2 with zaptel timming.
I have setup iax2 between two servers without success. when I launch asterisk with the asterisk -vvvvvgcd command I see serveral wanings listed below. Is this why I cannot make connections?? My question is, how do I setup zaptel timming without any cards if possible? Does anyone have the steps? Thanks for any information. If you want to do trunking across IAX, then you need to either add in a zap card for timing, or build a software timing source (see www.voip-info.org for alternate asterisk timing options) You could choose not to enable trunking on your IAX connections and you should be fine. The only difference is that when you make multiple concurrent calls over a single IAX connection, trunking saves you some bandwidth by reducing packet overhead. -Chris

Thanks for the response. I am rebuilding my kernel now to enable the alternate timing device. Hope this works. The reason I want to use IAX2 is because my server is behind a nat device and my clients are also under a nat device in another location. Also I wanted to experiment with IAX2. Thanks again for your reply, take care. James>From: "Chris A.
