hi I just wonder... Is asterisk or related works fixed to specific linux distros? In zaptel, the zaptel.init is redhat specific, which is ok, but chan_h323 doesn't even run on debian - neither Woody or Sid. If this is so, I'd be very grateful to see this documented somewhere... roy -- Roy Sigurd Karlsbakk, Datavaktmester ProntoTV AS - http://www.pronto.tv/ Tel: +47 9801 3356 Computers are like air conditioners. There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the h323 channels It might not be possible but .. is it possible for the developers to share/combine efforts? is it possible for one or the other of these to be included in the standard asterisk install? can both run on the same system at the same time? they seem to have some different features, it would be great if one or the other included all of the features currently available I don't want to step on toes, I just think that a combined package would be easier/better for us users to compile/install Roy Sigurd Karlsbakk (roy@karlsbakk.net) wrote:> >On Wednesday 26 March 2003 12:57, Michael Manousos wrote: >> Have you tried asterisk-oh323 (regarding H.323 support)? > >nope. You will notice both versions of the h323 channel drivers have a specific set of pwlib and openh323 that they need to work properly. It is unlikely you will get that version from debian, and you may get bad results if they upgrade past your stable setup. So I suggest you remove pwlib and openh323 from the debian package management, and download the right version from the appropriate place. -- Steven Critchfield <critch@basesys.com>

I guess I stand corrected :) I look forward to using it Jeremy McNamara (jj@indie.org) wrote:> >Brian Johnson wrote: > >>I *think* that: >> >> >>oh323 also acts as a h323 gatekeeper while chan_h323 does not >> >> >Wrong....chan_h323 has very basic gatekeeper functionalities hacked into >it, but doesn't quite work yet. > > >Jeremy McNamara > > >_______________________________________________ >Asterisk-Users mailing list >Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com >http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users >-- Brian Johnson This is where my witty signature line would be if I bothered to edit this line :)
