asterisk users - Mar 2003 - Help with outbound dialing

Greetings

I am trying to enable outbound dialing through an existing PBX system.

  Normally when dialing from the PBX, its 9,503-XXX-XXXX, for a local calls.
Long distance calls would be 9,1-212-XXX-XXXX.

The X100P connects directly to PBX.  When dialing from a SIP extension, I
think it needs to be dial the following. 9,9,503-XXX-XXXX for a local calls,
and 9,9,1-212-XXX-XXXX for a long distance calls.  

Can a macro automatically add the extra "9" prior to dial on the
X100P?

Or would it be the best way to do it, is in the "exten" context?

Exten => _99503XXXXXXX,1,Dial(Zap/1/${EXTEN:1})
Exten => _99503XXXXXXX,2,Congestion

All you need to do is not strip the 9 on outgoing calls since your pbx
needs it.
