[Asterisk-Users] Problems with asterisk under RH8.0 (audio/sound)
We're experiencing the following "sound" issues with asterisk on RH8.0. Basically the first thing is that the audio stutters or is choppy on the console and over a SIP phone (Cisco 7960). I pulled latest CVS code and recompiled, still same problem. It records voice mail just fine. Using the base install with sample config files for testing. Also get these errors that might be indicative to the problems... Usually on startup... WARNING[49159]: File chan_oss.c, Line 226 (sound_thread): Read error on sound device: Resource temporarily unavailable Usually after issuing a "dial" from the CLI: WARNING[98317]: File chan_oss.c, Line 617 (oss_read): Error reading from sound device (If you're running 'artsd' then kill it): Resource temporarily unavailable This doesn't happen all the time. No, I'm not running artsd. Was running Gnome/Bluecurve Desktop with esd running, but killed that. Also tested from run-level 3 (ie. no X11 running). This is on a 1Ghz PIII (Laptop) with Maestro3 audio.
