[Bug 1075] Host values in config are case sensitive
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1075 Summary: Host values in config are case sensitive Product: Portable OpenSSH Version: 3.8.1p1 Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: ssh AssignedTo: bitbucket at mindrot.org ReportedBy: kwerle at pobox.com OK, ssh_config SAYS: "The host is the hostname argument given on the command line (i.e., the name is not converted to a canonicalized host name before matching)." But, really, I'd like to see case insensitivity. MYHOST.somedomain.com is certainly the same as myhost.somedomain.com This on OSX 10.3 rgmac:/Users/kwerle% ssh -V OpenSSH_3.8.1p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7g 11 Apr 2005 ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

[Bug 1075] Host values in config are case sensitive
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1075 djm at mindrot.org changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |WONTFIX ------- Additional Comments From djm at mindrot.org 2005-08-27 01:07 ------- yes, we know. Unfortunately there are lots of working configs that would break if we started changing little things like this, so i think it is best to leave it alone for now. Don't worry, if we ever get around to thowing away the current client configuration format, this would be high on the list. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
