Hi there! I remember reading that you cannot reload new zone files on the fly and require a full restart of the nsd daemon? We are evaluating multiple DNS servers that have better performance comparing to bind, but will require quite heavy zone reload (new and existing) every 10 minutes or so. Downtime (even 1-3 secs) is not the option. Thanks! ____________________________________________________________________________________ Fussy? Opinionated? Impossible to please? Perfect. Hi Josh, NSD 3.0.x can secondary, with notify/ixfr it can reload existing zones without restart of the daemon. Adding a new zone requires a full restart, with a modified config file. I note this is a oft-requested feature (adding new zones without a restart). Wouter, thanks for your fast reply. Would be nice to have this feature - then NSD will be used in even more critical DNS servers around the world. Thanks! ----- Original Message ---- From: W.C.A.
