[crossbow-discuss] Virtual Box on snv_125 - bridged network broken?
I recently updated to snv_125 and now bridged networks for my VirtualBox guests can''t move any network traffic. I''ve tried both VirtualBox 3.0.4 and 3.0.8 with no success. Any ideas? Thanks, Gordon -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Which build were you running before? Cheers, Sunay On 10/21/09 10:43, Gordon Ross wrote:> I recently updated to snv_125 and now bridged networks for my > VirtualBox guests can''t move any network traffic. I''ve tried both > VirtualBox 3.0.4 and 3.0.8 with no success. Any ideas? > > Thanks, > Gordon

[crossbow-discuss] Virtual Box on snv_125 - bridged network broken?
I was running snv_122 before. I have one more clue: In the guest "dladm show-link" shows the NIC as "down". [crossbow-discuss] Virtual Box on snv_125 - bridged network broken?
We haven''t putback anything other than the bridging support between snv122 and snv125. I am CC''ing Rishi who did the bridging work to see if he can shed some more light on this. [crossbow-discuss] Virtual Box on snv_125 - bridged network broken?
More clues: Two machines, VirtualBox with bridged network is OK on one, and not on the other. The working machine is a desktop, NIC is "nge0" using svc:/network/physical:default The not working machine is a laptop, NIC is "bge0" using svc:/network/physical:nwam Both used to work before the update to snv_125, but after the update, only the desktop is working, not the laptop. Things look pretty similar on both with "dladm" commands, so I''m kinda stuck here. Help! (thanks:) -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

[crossbow-discuss] Virtual Box on snv_125 - bridged network broken?
The bridged network connectivity option in VirtualBox shouldn''t be impacted by the layer-2 bridging support integrated in build 124. There appears to be a recent post on VirtualBox forums about this issue: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10470 I also see Gordon has started a new thread there, I believe that is the best place to start discussions for issues seen with VirtualBox. [crossbow-discuss] Virtual Box on snv_125 - bridged network broken?
[ cross posted from: http://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?t=23596 ] Sorry for all the noise on this. In desperation, I created a new Solaris guest, and the new guest works fine with a bridged network. The guest I was using had been through a number of upgrades, and it must have somehow become defective. I still have the defective guest, in case anyone wants me to try some experiments on it. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
