Virtual Box on snv_125 - bridged network broken?
I recently updated to snv_125 and now bridged networks for my
VirtualBox guests can''t move any network traffic. I''ve tried both
VirtualBox 3.0.4 and 3.0.8 with no success. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gordon

Bridging firewall with snv_125 and ipfilter
Has anyone gotten a transparent firewall working? I''m using snv_125 on an IBM x346 (snv_130
goes into endless boot loops on this hardware). I can create a working bridge with dladm, but
can''t stop packets, even with "block in quick all". That stops packets on my management
interface bge0, but not on the bridge. :(

Is LSI SAS3081E-R suitable for a ZFS NAS ?
According to various posts the LSI SAS3081E-R seems to work well with OpenSolaris.
But I''ve got pretty chilled-out from my recent problems with Areca-1680''s.
Could anyone please confirm that the LSI SAS3081E-R works well ?
Is hotplug supported ?
Anything else I should know before buying one of these cards ?
Thanks,
Arnaud

Zfs upgrade freezes desktop
...s, disk activity stopped and the desktop was frozen. The zfs command
never appeared to finish. I waited about 15 minutes before power cycling.]
After reboot the file system rpool/ROOT/snv_126 was indeed upgraded to zfs version 4.
The same thing happened when I upgraded file system rpool/ROOT/snv_125.
Has anyone else seen this? I couldn''t find any related bugs.

Resilver/scrub times?
Hi all!
I''ve decided to take the "big jump" and build a ZFS home filer (although it
might also do "other work" like caching DNS, mail, usenet, bittorent and so
forth). YAY! I wonder if anyone can shed some light on how long a pool scrub
would take on a fairly decent rig. These are the specs as-ordered:
Asus P5Q-EM mainboard
Core2 Quad 2.83 GHZ
8GB DDR2/80

SAS vs SATA: Same size, same speed, why SAS?
I''m building another 24-bay rackmount storage server, and I''m considering
what drives to put in the bays. My chassis is a Supermicro SC846A, so the
backplane supports SAS or SATA; my controllers are LSI3081E, again
supporting SAS or SATA.
Looking at drives, Seagate offers an enterprise (Constellation) 2TB 7200RPM
drive in both SAS and SATA configurations; the SAS model offers
