I don''t quite follow what behavior you are looking for. When you say
you
want to control the mount/unmount of the pool, do you mean just the
"poolname" filesystem, or all filesystems in the pool?
You may be looking for "zfs set canmount=off poolname". This will
cause the
"poolname" (top-most) filesystem to not be mounted, but all
filesystems below
it will be mounted as usual.
