[zfs-discuss] How to recover the original VTOC when you used whole disk on ZFS ?
Hi to all, I used the whole disk with zpool on X86 and SPARC. The zpool command change de original VTOC to: * /dev/rdsk/c0t8d0s0 partition map * * Dimensions: * 512 bytes/sector * 8385121 sectors * 8385054 accessible sectors * * Flags: * 1: unmountable * 10: read-only * * First Sector Last * Partition Tag Flags Sector Count Sector Mount Directory 0 4 00 34 8368670 8368703 8 11 00 8368704 16384 8385087 On X86 I can restore the original VTOC with fdisk command but on SPARC the only procedure that I found is with format command and wait at least 60 minutes. Dou you know another form to restore de original VTOC on SPARC ??what is the procedure?? Hi Jaime, Just use format -e, label, choose SMI (not EFI) and you''re done ;) Jnm. -- jlarios at estratel.com.mx a ?crit :> > Hi to all, I used the whole disk with zpool on X86 and SPARC. > The zpool command change de original VTOC to: > > * /dev/rdsk/c0t8d0s0 partition map > * > * Dimensions: > * 512 bytes/sector > * 8385121 sectors > * 8385054 accessible sectors > * > * Flags: > * 1: unmountable > * 10: read-only > * > * First Sector Last > * Partition Tag Flags Sector Count Sector Mount Directory > 0 4 00 34 8368670 8368703 > 8 11 00 8368704 16384 8385087 > > On X86 I can restore the original VTOC with fdisk command but on SPARC > the only procedure that I found is with format command and wait at > least 60 minutes. > Dou you know another form to restore de original VTOC on SPARC ??what > is the procedure?? > > Regards > -- > Jaime Larios O.. > email: jaime.larios at gmail.com > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > _______________________________________________ > zfs-discuss mailing list > zfs-discuss at opensolaris.org > http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/zfs-discuss >-------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Jaime, On SPARC issue "format -e" (expert mode). When you now type "format", it will list the option of either an EFI labeled disk or VTOC labeled disk.
