[zfs-discuss] Install ZFS on existing Solaris 10 box?
Perhaps this has been covered elsewhere, but I can''t seem to google it up so I''ll ask - Can I take an existing Solaris 10 box, current on patches, but not installed from a sun express with ZFS install disk, and add ZFS support to it? If so what steps would I need to take. Is it just a few pkgadds and a reboot or is it more complex? If I can''t, can someone tell me why so I can convince my boss that a reinstall is really necessary... Thanks Jeff

A reinstall will not be necessary; the worst case is an upgrade to U2 when it is released. Casper

You can use the upgrade option to move from Solaris 10 3/05 or Solaris 10 1/06 to the next update release then. Ronald
