Hi, sorry for newbie questions, but I really got lost in the docs... I just wanted to ask if it is possible to have encrypted file systems or disks with (Open)Solaris at the moment? I have seen the loficc and zfs-crypto project, but none of them seem to be integrated into the official relelase yet. Is there any roadmap for stable release of these projects? Which one would be the best to use? Thanks for answers. Chris This message posted from opensolaris.org

I''ve no idea how accurate that might be. I was wondering the same thing as you yesterday, so did a search and that was the only thing that gave me any sort of clue when it might be in Solaris Express. Which one would be the best to use?loficc was almost ready to integrate but has had some issues with other recent changes to lofi. It is still being worked on and I hope it will appear soon. The engineer working on it is doing so full time. As for ZFS Crypto our plan is snv_100 but that could change depending on how quickly or otherwise we resolve the last remaining issues (dnode bonusbuffer encryption and problems with boot). -- Darren J Moffat
