I''ve been given the word that all company laptops must provide additional security of our source code in the event of a theft. I''ve got Linux and Windows covered, but I need something for Solaris/OpenSolaris. As we all know, if someone has a hold of the laptop, then login passwords really don''t hold up, so it can''t be a simple self-signed user certificate (windows EFS). The best I can come up with is a tar->crypt->delete-folder path. Not very transparent, but it will work. Any ideas on alternate solutions? The only issues is that the laptop may not be connected via the network, but access to the files need to be provided while disconnected. I guess that brings up the ZFS encryption project. Is this kind of protection going to be addressed? Thanks, Gary This message posted from opensolaris.org
