I am diving in for the first time with live migration and was hoping for some pointers. I have figured out how to get the disks visible to both dom0''s. I was looking on the wiki but I didn''t see anything on how to do a live migration with the xl toolstack. Is this another thing that was done away with like the USB attach/detach? When I try it, I keep getting an error about it not being able to suspend the domain. What am I doing wrong? What am I doing wrong? You''ll need to supply a full set of logs and guest configuration for anyone to answer that. See http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/Reporting_Bugs_against_Xen for a list of useful things to include. Ian.
Ian, Thank you for all your help on here. In order to try and keep this concise I redirected the output of the commands to files attached to this post Going from the link in your previous post I have included the following files. xlmigCMD.txt - output from the xl -v migrate Win81 192.168.0.146 command xlinfo.txt - result of xl info command rest are logs that I think pertain to this guest domain. I am running this on Debian Jessie (7) with Xen 4.1 from their repositories. Thanks again for your and everyone else''s help. Only one host system is described so this might be a localhost migration, in which case you need enough spare RAM for 2 copies of the domain and dom0. Shane, you should also know that xl in 4.1 was a tech preview and some stuff may not work quite right or smoothly. I thought basic migration was OK though. Ian.
