Hello all, I use the XEN packages from SuSE 9.3 (xen 2.0.5c). The hard disc has one partition for /boot and dom0/domU on lvm. I can boot into dom0 without problems but if I try to start domU I get the kernel error message listed in messaage.kernel. I added another disk so dom0 is not on lvm. With this configuration XEN is working (I can boot domU without problems). Is this a known issue? Are there solutions? Best regards Matthias Pfafferodt -- Linux is for people who want to know why it works. Mac is for people who don''t want to know why it works. DOS is for people who want to know why it does not work. Windows is for people who don''t want to know why it does not work. _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

Odd that it''s a GPF rather than a page fault. Would you mind trying again with a kernel from the xen 2.0.6 release? Same issue here with my 9.3 Pro. I''ll check with our people here at XenSource. Would you mind > trying again with a kernel from the xen 2.0.6 release?Sorry, at the moment I don''t have the time to compile a new kernel. Are there any xen-2.0.6 RPM-packages for SuSE 9.3? I can try to compile a new kernel in 1-2 weeks. There is same strange behavior of the lvm backend. If I start Xen dom0 (on lvm) and restart the computer into linux without XEN lvm can''t mount the volumes. The boot process stops in runlevel 1 and I have to manually mount all partitions/logical volumes. For the next boot without XEN it works without problems. If I boot XEN again ... (the same problem). All partitions/volumes are formated with reiserfs 3.6.
