Hi I''m having problems with the xen instances recognising and seeing the underlying hardware. Basically I''m running FC4 T2. When I boot up with the fedora xen kernel everything works fine. However, when I run a domain, lets say "rawhide" and boot into it, the rawhide domain can''t see all the devices, kudzu says that the dollowing devices have been removed: usb, ethernet, ps2 mouse. Is there a solution for this? I know somebody told me to recompile the kernel with the new modules, but I don''t think I need to do this as the xen kernel can already see my hardware. I would be very grateful for any guidance. That is what seems you are stating when you said "However, when I run a domain, lets say rawhide and boot into it..." -- Bye, Fernando Maciel Souto Maior fernando@araujo.com.br http://www.araujo.com.br +55+31 3270-5886 LPIC/1 # 31908 AVISO------------------------------------------------------------- Esta mensagem pode conter informacao confidencial ou privilegiada. Is there a solution for this?So you''ve booted into XenLinux and you''re creating another domain? How did you build the filesystem for this domain? In any case, domUs will not see the real physical hardware because they only have virtual devices. I guess the filesystem for this domain was originally installed onto the bare hardware, right? (e.g. using the install CD). Kudzu is just noticing that the devices it had when it was installed are now not present. You can tell Kudzu to just ignore the changes or to deconfigure the devices (if you only intend on running this in a domU and never booting it directly). You could also disable Kudzu.
