Xen devel - Aug 2012 - [help] What's the relationship between tap*.* and vif *.* ?

Hi all,

    You can see a list of interfaces containing such as tap and vif using
`ifconfig`, and also using `brctl show`.
    My virtual machine is of HVM mode, in this case, what''s the
relationship between the pair of interfaces, when
and where were they created?

I wannar disable the vif*.*, that is to say, not to create vif devices when
HVM mode;
is there any exsiting resolution?

in src/tools/libxl/libxl_create.c, I found several lines:
(it seems to create vif devices)

         for (i = 0; i < d_config->num_vifs; i++) {


             d_config->vifs[i].domid = domid;


              ret = libxl_device_nic_add(ctx, domid, &d_config->vifs[i])

Is there something wrong with skipping that?
