[Xen-devel] Out sw-iommu space problem

We have dom0 Squeeze with official kernel (2.6.32-35squeeze2) and xen
4.0.2-rc3 from git testing on DELL poweredge T310 with raid controller H200
(all with latest firmware).
Some domus linux pv and some windows with gplpv.
We randomly running into this error during xendomains stop command (with
save of all domus):

Rebooting the systems doesn''t resolve this problem.
We have also try to add swiotlb=128 on vmlinuz line but the systems always
loops with "out sw-iommu space" message (probably also bug in swiotlb
switch
on kernel).
Can someone help us to solve this problem please?

Whoa. that is impressive. Try booting your dom0 with swiotlb=128768

or some other large number.>

http://xenbits.xen.org/hg/staging/xen-unstable.hg/rev/a5a0817d9210 with some
strange characters "Â", there isn''t on 4.0 testing and
isn''t this problem
but can be a bug on unstable.

It will most likely get into the next Debian Squeeze kernel by virtue of
being in the next upstream longterm release but I''ll keep and eye on
things and try to make sure it gets in regardless..

After setting swiotlb=65762 on vmlinuz (from 64 mb to 128 mb) problem solved.
Is swiotlb set on vmlinux bugged? At this time on 2.6.32 pv_ops, in order to
set size in MB requires this calculation: swiotlb=N where N/1024*2=MB

OK. I am not sure why your driver is using that much space, but that is 
the purpose of the argument.

That is correct. It is correct for any kernel since 2.6.18 I believe. Unless
the swiotlb in the Xen old-style was doing something different.
