[Xen-devel] warning to anyone trying the wdm branch of the gpl pv drivers
Just a warning to anyone who is trying the gpl pv drivers from the hg wdm branch, eg only if you''ve built them yourself as I haven''t yet released a binary of that version. I''m getting BSoD''s on the windows DomU which are hanging my Dom0 for somewhere between 5-10 minutes with a "BUG: soft lockup detected on CPU#0!". I''m pretty sure that the problem has been introduced by changes I have made that I haven''t checked in yet, but I''m not sure so maybe don''t do any testing on a production Dom0 at this point :) Can anyone give me any clues as to what DomU behaviour could cause Dom0 to do this? The full text of the bug check is: " BUG: soft lockup detected on CPU#0! Call Trace: <IRQ> [<ffffffff8029fae4>] softlockup_tick+0xdb/0xed [<ffffffff80267d7a>] timer_interrupt+0x38d/0x3db [<ffffffff80211154>] handle_IRQ_event+0x2d/0x60 [<ffffffff8029fe23>] __do_IRQ+0xa4/0x105 [<ffffffff8028360e>] _local_bh_enable+0x59/0xb3 [<ffffffff80266568>] do_IRQ+0x65/0x73 [<ffffffff80360f61>] evtchn_do_upcall+0x86/0xe0 [<ffffffff8025c5da>] do_hypervisor_callback+0x1e/0x2c <EOI> [<ffffffff8020622a>] hypercall_page+0x22a/0x1000 [<ffffffff8020622a>] hypercall_page+0x22a/0x1000 [<ffffffff8036073a>] force_evtchn_callback+0xa/0xb [<ffffffff8036a750>] make_response+0x122/0x131 [<ffffffff8036af96>] blkif_schedule+0x24f/0x328 [<ffffffff8028fa28>] autoremove_wake_function+0x0/0x2e [<ffffffff8028f865>] keventd_create_kthread+0x0/0x61 [<ffffffff8036ad47>] blkif_schedule+0x0/0x328 [<ffffffff8028f865>] keventd_create_kthread+0x0/0x61 [<ffffffff8023352b>] kthread+0xd4/0x107 [<ffffffff8025c830>] child_rip+0xa/0x12 [<ffffffff8028f865>] keventd_create_kthread+0x0/0x61 [<ffffffff80233457>] kthread+0x0/0x107 [<ffffffff8025c826>] child_rip+0x0/0x12 " And it happens at the point when the DomU bluescreens.
