Do you mean that if you compiled 8021q into the kernel it worked?
Since Xen 1.2 basically supports L3 routing rather than L2
switching, I''d be rather surprised if it actually functioned
correctly in any domain other than dom 0.
For doing virtual VLANs etc, take a look at the 1.3vnet tree on
bkbits.net. It has patches to enable this functionality, but the
control interface is somewhat different.

I compiled directly in the kernel and it works.
I compiled the module 8021q in the xen kernel.
Now I want to add a new vlan:
[root@xen victor]# [root@xen root]# vconfig add eth0 5
WARNING: Could not open /proc/net/vlan/config. Maybe you need to load
the 8021q module, or maybe you are not using PROCFS??
ERROR: trying to add VLAN #5 to IF -:eth0:- error: Package not installed
The module 8021q could not be loaded, so I tried manualy:
[root@xen root]# insmod 8021q
Using /lib/modules/2.4.24-xeno/kernel/net/8021q/8021q.o
/lib/modules/2.4.24-xeno/kernel/net/8021q/8021q.o: unresolved symbol
dev_change_flags
/lib/modules/2.4.24-xeno/kernel/net/8021q/8021q.o: unresolved symbol
vlan_ioctl_hook
Thank you.
