Xapian devel - Jan 2017 - Query regarding the Weighting Schemes project

Hi,
This is regarding the weighting schemes project , i believe it was taken up
as a GSOC 2016 project , the description doesn't seem to have any update
after the summers , so is the idea still open , any scope of contributions
??

I actually updated it last week to reflect what Vivek implemented last
year.

A project this year could work on tracking more statistics (to speed up
searches with existing schemes, to give more accurate results where we
currently approximate, and/or to enable implementing new schemes) and/or
implementing more schemes.

I don't know of any particular schemes that aren't yet implemented, but
that doesn't mean a lot - I wasn't aware of BM25+, PL2+ or Dir+ before
Vivek proposed them last year).  There's scope for implementing more
normalisations within the SMART TF/IDF framework.
