Hi~
I'm Hanxiao Sun. It's very honored to be selected by Xapian as a GSoC
2014
students. I'm currently a master student in University of Chinese Academy
of Sciences <http://english.ucas.ac.cn/Pages/default.aspx>.
This<http://about.me/sunhanxiao> is
a shot introduction about myself.
My research interests include Information Retrieval, Machine Learning and
Recommended System. I prefer to do applied research and resolve
the practical problem in the industry. So I have took part in
some algorithm competitions on Kaggle <http://www.kaggle.com/>. If you are
also interested in them, maybe we can work together on some interesting
topic.
In my spare time, I'm outdoor enthusiasts. I have been to many places on
my bicycle and I have just climbed up to the top of a snow mountain
named Haba Snow Mountain several days ago.
In my this year GSoC project, I want to add more algorithms in Xapian's
learning to rank model. I have filled out my wiki page. You can see my plan
here<http://trac.xapian.org/wiki/GSoC2014/Learning%20to%20Rank%20Hanxiao%20Sun/Project%20plan>.
I have already set up my development environment and made some coding on it
during application.
Looking forward to a fruitful summer with Xapian!
Cheers,
Hanxiao
