Heya Chauk,
Your a part of the development team, and if you have been able to get wxRuby
to compile against 2.0 of SWIG, then I say go ahead and commit it.
We''ve
given you commit access, so that you can do things just like this, and
wouldn''t need to run it by us, though letting us know is a good thing.
lol
But yeah, go ahead, and commit it, and push the Requirement to SWIG 2.0.
It actually saves all of us time and a half trying to get something done
with compatibility, especially when you''ve already gotten it.
As to the other issue with wxRuby on OSX, I was just wanting confirmation of
which version of wxWidgets to go with, in my attempts to get the gem built
with MediaCtrl support, and Scintilla and such components enabled. The gem
that we have publicized on the Mailing list, that was put up for hosting,
does not have either of these features enabled, so I wanted to get a compile
going that allows it to work properly.
If you get SWIG 2.0 uploaded, I will go ahead and do a new compile against
the SWIG 2.0 code on Mac, and let you know how it goes. Kills 2 birds with
one stone. I think maybe we should go ahead, and try to push a 2.0.2
release soon. It''s been pretty stagnated in development, and we need
to run
through the bug reports, and see what is solved by going to SWIG 2.0 and
what is still needed to be fixed, and get them fixed, if possible, then push
for a 2.0.2 release, and ensure we get a Snow Leopard gem up there, as well
as a Leopard gem.
We should probably go ahead and drop support for Tiger and before, as most
Mac systems will at the very least have Leopard on it, if not better. We
should keep Leopard support, cause that is the last official version of OS X
that supports the Power PC processor.
l8ers,
Mario
