I have matured the last 34 years, database application wise, under FoxPro/DOS. I am now using Ubuntu. There does not seem to be a program that is similar to FoxPro/dBASE/Approach, etc. where the user interface/language/database commands are 'under one roof'. Ergo: Do any of those 16 bit MS Windows programs work reliably under wine? tia, John
I run the WEP games from Windows 3.1 in 32-bit Wine without issues (with OS set to Windows XP). WoW is implemented but I don't know how well it works for DOS applications. If your application is completely DOS-based I suggest trying DosBox. I am looking for a gui application. I currently use LibreOffice for mainly calc applications in my office only. The employees use my foxpro/dos applications to perform office operations. The base portion of LO is good for creating forms and reports for databases, but it does not include a language to create applications like the foxpro/approach/dbfast/etc. John
