(Someone previously posted what causes them, but I could not quickly find it) IIRC it would require winegecko to be recompiled / patched to get rid of. (You can test that gecko is working with 'wine iexplore', if it opens winehq.org, it is fine) Gert

First off all thank you for your responses . Austin987 i understand that, but before i had wine 1.1.22 installed the small description from metin2 (before starting the game) worked, now after wine 1.1.22 was installed the description doesen`t appear anymore. Gert van den Berg i have issued wine iexplore and it opened winehq.org page . But still how in wine 1.1.20 the intro from metin2 worked and now at wine 1.1.22 i does not. I have to say that i have deleted my .wine directory from my home folder because i have errors with some programs and after that i have started winecfg(after wine 1.1.22 was installed) and after that wine-doors(that installed some fonts and autohotkey with winegecko) ; is this why in wine 1.1.22 the description from the game does not work?
A. i have removed .wine-doors from my home directory and removed wine-doors from my system with yast and i removed .wine as well B. will the test say anything if i uninstalled wine 1.1.21 before installing 1.1.22, is that a good practice ? I run "make uninstall" every time i upgrade from one version of wine to another. Now i have a fresh .wine directory with no wine-doors and i have installed directx9, gecko, corefonts and vcrun2005sp1 . The good part is that both the description from metin2 and counter strike appears, but for some reason metin2 loads a bit slow now (before when i had both wine and wine-doors installed it loaded faster- but thats not an issue here since nothing is perfect this is just my observation) An small issue however is present when i run metin2: when i move my character in the game some "spots" remain on the screen from the place i have started walking - parts of the ground or mountains depending on my position. i will post back the results from the regression test. Hope i get it right .
Following the instructions i did download wine-git and after that i issued : creation:~/Kituri/wine/wine-git # git bisect start creation:~/Kituri/wine/wine-git # git bisect good wine-1.1.21 creation:~/Kituri/wine/wine-git # git bisect bad wine-1.1.22 Bisecting: 184 revisions left to test after this [806ea86be2f2f1bbea09d39b242816624bef2b26] dxdiagn: DirectShowFilters should go under numbered sub-containers. In versions from wine 1.1.20 until wine 1.1.22 the description both in metin2(even the bug regarding the "spots" when moving my character) and in counter-strike appeared. So my question is this : Do you really thing is worth trying to do what you said inside my quoted lines ?
Well if i started to hunt a bug i will do that again, hoping to see if the same bug appears this time since i have deleted the wine archives and wine-git downloaded earlier today and downloaded again the archives of wine 1.1.20 to 1.1.22 . Again i will download wine-git and post back results to see if i get the same bug as earlier :) Hope this helps wine developers to get rid of an another bug .
Since wine 1.1.20 worked fine(the issues appear after upgrading to wine 1.1.21 and wine 1.1.22) before the whole wine gecko issue and the bug from the graphics of metin2 when moving my character, i will start the regression test in 2 cases case1 git bisect start git bisect good wine-1.1.20 git bisect bad wine-1.1.21 case2 git bisect start git bisect good wine-1.1.21 git bisect bad wine-1.1.22 After each case i will use regression reverting the patch git show code-name | patch -p1 -R CC="ccache gcc" ./configure --verbose && make depend && make I will post the results here . PS: please tell if my order of cases is corect :)
