Greetings,
I have tried to get IE5.5 & 6 running on
Wine under FreeBSD 5.3.
When I try to install DCOM98.EXE using
Joachim's WineTools, it asks me
"OK to install DCOM98 for Windows 98?" <Yes>
Then I get the "Please read the following license agreement..."
dialog <Yes>.
Then I get a "ThunkConnect32 Failure!" message.
Any idea why?
BTW I had to change some things in the winetools script, such as
- location of bash
- location of gettext
- following line doesn't work on FreeBSD 5.3:
#PROGRESS="`ls -l "$sysname" |sed -e \"s/\ \+/,/g\"|cut
-d\, -f5`"
- replaced that line with
PROGRESS="`ls -l "$sysname" |awk '{print $5}'`"

The IE 5.5 starts
and I get through several dialog boxes, but it
chokes after downloading about 15% of
what is needed.
The currrent FreeBSD ports collection version
of Wine is 20041019, which your chart at
http://www.von-thadden.de/Joachim/WineTools/
says to use WineTools wt207jo-wt211jo on.
Is this the same version in the tar.gz file at
that site?
