Hi, Has anyone had any luck installing or getting it to run from a windows install? Basically I'm stuck at exactly the same point (I get the exact same messages and all) as http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-users/2005/02/0018.html and the people who posted comments in the AppDB http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=1810. I'm using Wine 20050419 Brian
I have never gotten mine to work. wine versions 20040408 through 20050419. Mandrake 9.1 Dreamweaver exits with an error "Dreamweaver encountered a fatal error. Dreamweaver will now close." Strangely enough. Dreamweaver is installed in a FAT partition on my hard disk that is shared via SAMBA. When I access this program over the network with a "real" Windows 98 computer, Dreamweaver runs flawlessly. This is how I've been using it for the past year. Therefore I believe it is a problem in Wine and not with the DW install. I hope this information can help someone to narrow down the problem. -----Original Message----- From: wine-users-admin@winehq.org [mailto:wine-users-admin@winehq.org]On Behalf Of Brian G. A traceable approach for the pure testing would be to install on a standard fake drive under Linux. As someone under http://appdb.winehq.com/appview.php?versionId=1810 told, it should at least install with Wine 2004-07-16 and someone got it working until selection of the layout. But then it crashes. Regards Joachim von Thadden -- "Never touch a running system! Never run a touching system? Never run a touchy system!!!"

I see you say you are mounting and using a real Windows partition but installed Dreamweaver using Wine. So no, you should not need to reinstall it.

Quoting Mike Hearn <mike@navi.cx>:> The MX 2004 programs use an unsupported copy protection scheme. This is an interesting angle. Where can I get more info on these copy protection schemes? cheers :) Muita
I doubt it has something to do with a copy protection scheme since I can install all the MX 2004 products on an XP machine when I copy the install files to my hard drive. Angela Burrell, are you using MX or MX 2004? cheers :) Muita
