I'm interested to have on the object of each message generated by the mailing list something like "[Wine]", as for others mailing lists. That could be useful to discriminate between right messages and spam, allowing to delete messages not reading them in advance. I think other users too could apreciate that addendum. Thanks. Just signed up to all the wine lists this week and this was the first thing i noticed missing... I cant tell them apart from my other lists. This feature would be groovy IMHO. I would like to register a complaint too, this is a bad idea. I would really expect this sort of stuff only from Redmond. Ivan.
it would be very helpful for me as well. Do not modify the subject line. It is a waste of meaningful space!!!! BTW, I'm on a dozen or so email lists, and ONLY ONE DOES IT, and I HATE IT THERE! With a REAL mail client like Pegasus Mail for Windows (or Eurdora, for that matter), you certainly can filter off the list ID. In fact, you can probably do it in Outlook or Outlook Express - just filter on the address it comes from (wine-users@winehq.org). It is not easier to filter on junk like [WINE] in the subject line, some mail clients use the [ ] brackets to delineate their equivalent of regular expressions (RegEx) <rant on> and in my not-very-humble opinion, it just clutters up a valuable information field with USELESS JUNK!!!!!! </rant off> David gnome@hawaii.rr.com ----- Original Message ----- From: Julian Hall <wine@kaotic.co.uk> Date: Wednesday, June 23, 2004 12:16 pm Subject: RE: [Wine]Re: to the administrators> I just filter mail where > wine-users@winehq.org is in the Recipients field. > > As a new Linux user though, I do still access from a Windows based > PC fairly > regularly. I still hate it, get rid of it!
